Bish Bash 2018

‘Bish Bash 2018’ took place in the Black Box over two nights in December. This year’s show saw a wide array of performances including some remarkable piano players, banjo players, singers, dancers and musicians.

The production crew - Sarah Gleeson, Keith O’Reilly, Stefanie Carr, Michael Quain, Amy Considine, Marie Connolly, Elaine Dobbyn, Dónal Quilty, Gráinne Cotter and Kate O’Regan  – worked with the acts for eight weeks prior to the show, advising and helping to polish the performances.

The backstage crew – Ryan Hornet, Alan Whyte, Oran Fahy, Dean Flaherty-Shaw and Richard Olayiwola – generated plenty of laughs dressed as nuns while pulling the show seamlessly together.

Bish Bash 2011

There are very few events in a school calendar capable of making the whole heart of the school beat in unison. Bish Bash proved this year that it is capable of captivating an entire school community with such a degree of anticipation and excitement that, on the week of December 9th, 2011, it was all anyone could talk about. From the office staff to the teaching staff, to the students and their friends and families, the demand for a seat at the show was phenomenal. Every seat was booked-out within a day and a half, leaving hundreds disappointed.

‘The Bish’ has a rich history of dramatic and musical productions which includes shows such as Oklahoma, The Merchant of Venice, South Pacific and many others. There is no doubt that the artistic, dramatic and musical talents of our students are quite something to behold, and in 2010, there was something for everyone to enjoy in the first ever ‘Bish Bash’.

The task of putting this show together began in September, when several teachers held a meeting and came up with a few ideas on what to do. It wasn’t long before the school was plastered with posters advertising the auditions for ‘Bish Bash – Sure Give it a Lash!’ The response to the auditions was fantastic, and there was a buzz about the school as students and teachers worked tirelessly over the next few months, filling the halls and classrooms with music, comedy, singing, rapping, and dancing. Each of the twenty acts was assigned a teacher ‘mentor’ who helped to guide and to perfect each performance.
