Group Game 1 Bish vs St Enda’s Drom, November 3rd

The Bish under 14s team kicked off their first competitive game of the 2010/2011 season with a home game in Drom against St.
Enda’s, Galway.

The Bish began in flying form, claiming most of the possession from an early start, but were held back by the St. Enda’s defence. The Bish, however, conceded the first goal in the 20th minute when a corner kick deflected off goalkeeper Shane Conneely, and crossed only inches
over the line.

Minutes before half time, a free kick from Bish captain Cian Morley from 30 yards out soared towards goal and was finished off on the ground with a clever tap in by the frontman Shane Hulgraine. The Bish pushed on into the second half eager to get in front, and showed sheer class when Michael Costello twisted and turned and finished with a cool left footed shot from just outside the box, rocketing past the Enda’s keeper. Though Enda’s came back strong for the remainder of the half but they couldn’t manage to
overcome the home side.

Final Score:

                          Bish  2 – 1  St. Enda’s

Scorers:  Shane Hulgraine, Michael Costello
