Major investment in rowing catering department

The internationally acclaimed 'Bish' rowing catering department has made a significent investment for the new season.

No expense has been spared — or spent! — in sourcing the latest piece of equipment for the portable catering department which is run by coach Padraig Lohan with help from the other coaches and parents.

A new spoon has been sourced for the cooking of Padraig's famous pasta and dozens of hungry young oarsmen, coaches, parents and general hangers-on will benefit in the coming months from this latest addition to a kitchen which has been acclaimed at international regattas in places like Ghent and Nottingham as well as venues all over Ireland.

The spoon — the only wooden spoon the 'Bish' hope to have this season — had its maiden voyage at the recent Sligo Head of the River where the warm and tasty pasta was the highlight of a sodden day where rowing had to be eventually cancelled due to the wind and rain.

The new spoon, proudly displayed here by Padraig before it was plunged into action, created quite a stir at the Sligo Head.
