Fionan Tolan Awarded Bish Sportsman of the Year

Fionan Tolan was awarded Sportsman of the Year at the Annual Bish Sports Award held in the Bish Gym recently. Jim Egan also received a Special Merit Award for his work and dedication to the Rowing Club over the years.

Fionnan Tolan was awarded ‘Sports Star of the Year’ for his success and commitment to Rowing. He was presented with the trophy which by coincidence was returned to the Bish two days earlier. It had been awarded in 1951 to Kevin O Beirne and forgotten in his attic since then! It was first awarded in 1934 to N. Kennedy. We are thrilled to have it back in the Bish trophy cabinet.
